Know More About The Android 13

Google released the first developer preview of Android 13 in February of 2022. The thirteenth release of the Android mobile operating system was named ‘Tiramisu’ after the Italian desert’. The first beta version was released publicly in May 2022 and after a little improvising, launched in August 2022.

What’s new in the Android 13?

Google first launched the Android 13 on the Google Pixel 7 Pro and Google Pixel 7, since then the operating system has been rolling out to all the newly launched popular phones. Here are some of the top features in Google’s new OS.

Themed app icons

This feature allows all supported Android launchers to inherit the color of the user’s chosen wallpaper or theme. If the user has enabled themed app icons and the launcher supports the feature, the system uses coloring of the chosen wallpaper to determine the tint color, then applies to the monochromatic app icon.

language preference for each app

This feature allows the user to set a different language to each app. This feature is useful when the user wants to set a specific language to a specific app instead of changing the entire system language.

Clipboard preview

In this feature, the system displays a standard visual confirmation when content is added to the clipboard. This way the user can confirm that the content was saved successfully with a preview.

Design changes in Android 13

Android 13 introduced quite a few design changes in its user interface after the operating system’s most significant UI change with the Material You in Android 12. Some of these include:

  • Auto-theming icons
  • More Material You theming options
  • Alternative lock screen clock setup
  • Updated ” Now Playing” widget

  • More intuitive QR scanner support
  • Reworked audio output selector
  • Smart home controls in unlocked state
